President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov has signed the Constitutional Law "On Amendments to the Constitutional Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On Elections of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic'."
According to the law, regular presidential elections will be held on the fourth Wednesday of January in the year when the term of office of the Head of State expires. Accordingly, the next presidential election will take place on 27 January 2027.
In addition, regular elections of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh will also be held on the Wednesday of the last month of the constitutional term of office of the incumbent convocation of Parliament.
According to the law, rescheduling election day to a weekday is intended to increase voter turnout. Election day will be declared a non-working day.
