Multiple routes scheduled for preventative maintenance

JEFFERSON CITY , M o . - Seal coating operations are scheduled to begin on several routes in Washington, Crawford, and Dent counties to help preserve the pavement and extend the life of the roadway s.

Work will require single-lane closures with flagging operations, and motorists should expect delays through the work zones.

The contractor plans to begin on Washington County Route U from Springtown to St. Franc o is County Route BB . Work is scheduled to take place Monday, Aug. 31 , through Wednesday , Sept . 2 , from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Crews will then move to Washington County Route E from Route CC to Missouri Route 21. Work is scheduled to take plac e Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Thursday, Sept. 10 , from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Also included are the routes listed below, also scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily :

• Sept. 11 : Crawford County Route ZZ from Route F to McLeod Street .

• Sept. 12 - 14 : Crawford County Route DD from southeast of Brush Creek to west of Missouri Route 19 .

• Sept. 15 - 16 : Dent County Route F from Missouri Route 32 to Route E .

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

Seal coating is a preventative maintenance treatment which rejuvenates the road surface and helps extend the life of the roadway by filling and sealing cracks in the existing asphalt with an emulsified asphalt/aggregate seal. MoDOT does its best to be good stewards of the monies entrusted to us by taxpayers. One of the ways is to employ preventative maintenance methods, such as this.

At its November 2025 meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $ 1,412,405.00 contract to Blevins Asphalt Construction Company, Inc. to complete the project. All work is expected to be completed on or before Oct. 1, 2026.

MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
