Vance Calls for More State Abortion Bans Arrow

Today, JD Vance touted the Trump administration's harmful actions to curtail access to reproductive care and abortions for millions of women across the country. Vance said it was a "terrible tragedy" that the majority of Americans support reproductive freedom and called for anti-choice advocates to mobilize and "win victories at the state level."

Vance has long been a supporter of extreme policies against reproductive freedom, including a federal abortion ban, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and said he wanted to protect life "from the date of conception."

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"Trump and Vance have waged a war on reproductive health care that has endangered the lives of millions of women across the country. Attacks on access to abortion, birth control, and IVF have ripped away fundamental freedoms for women. Trump and his rubber-stamp Republicans continue to push for cruel restrictions, such as inhibiting access to contraceptives and ripping away guidance to provide health-saving and life-saving abortion care to patients experiencing medical crises. Plain and simple: Vance and Trump will stop at nothing to deny the right and ability for women to seek life-saving health care."

Despite claiming to be pro-family, Trump and his administration have fueled chaos, confusion, and fear by warning pregnant women to avoid Tylenol - falsely claiming it causes autism without scientific evidence - and shaming mothers for trusting medical experts. It's no surprise that a majority of voters say that Trump is focused on the wrong priorities.
