AUGUSTA, ME - U.S. Senator Susan Collins attended the State of Maine Sportsman's Show at the Augusta Civic Center. Hosted by the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine (SAM) in partnership with The Maine Sportsman, the 44th annual show featured dozens of vendors, along with educational exhibits and family activities celebrating Maine's outdoor heritage.
"It was a great day at the State of Maine Sportsman's Show in Augusta yesterday visiting with so many Mainers who love to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors with their families," said Senator Collins. "These activities are such an important part of Maine's heritage and support rural businesses and communities across our state. I will continue working with sportsmen and women, as well as conservation leaders across the state, to help ensure our outdoor way of life remains strong for future generations."
In Fiscal Year 2023, Senator Collins secured $700,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending to support SAM's research and planning related to expanded hatchery production of salmonid fish in Maine.
