The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is alerting customers of the upcoming train service adjustments effective the evening of Friday, August 22, 2025, through early morning Monday, August 25, 2025, on the Hartford Line (HL). As a result of Amtrak's track construction project, busing will be required for most trains. This is the second of four weekend outages on the Hartford Line this year.
Busing is necessary to support Amtrak's Wood Interlocking project. The project consists of replacing track components which will lead to a reduction in maintenance and increased reliability. Amtrak will also be upgrading the railroad crossing at Macktown Road in Windsor. The crossing will be closed from August 22 through September 10 with detours planned for traffic. This will keep the railroad in a state of good repair.

Train fares will be effective on the substitute buses. Customers are required to purchase a CTrail or Amtrak ticket to board the substitute buses.
Buses will stop at all scheduled stations. Bus times at intermediate stations may vary due to traffic and other conditions. Customers will be directed to the bus pick up and drop off location by signage on the platform. Below is a list of the bus substitutions:
