This NALEO member found her voice
Growth often begins with the courage to speak up.
Since taking office, Councilmember Gloria Solorio, a proud member of NALEO Educational Fund's Newly Elected Officials Class of 2022, has reflected on how finding her voice - and the right support - transformed her leadership.
Having participated in the Economic Mobility Policy Institute in May 2025, she engaged other policymakers with in-depth discussions and developed strategies to expand economic opportunity and build pathways to financial stability for working families in her community. She continued that momentum in September 2025 at the Emergency Preparedness Policy Institute, enhancing her knowledge and leadership skills to better protect and support her community before, during, and after emergencies.
