LPD Investigating Fatal Shooting | September 2026

The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting.
On Tuesday, September 15, around 7:20 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance involving juveniles in the area of N. 47th Street and Cleveland Avenue.
Officers contacted those involved when some of them ran off. While interviewing those still on scene, they heard a gunshot about a block away near N. 46th Street and Madison Avenue.
Officers arrived within moments and found a 19-year-old Lincoln woman with a single gunshot wound. They immediately performed life-saving measures on the victim, who was also involved in the original disturbance call. She was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. Our thoughts are with her loved ones.
One person is in custody and police are speaking with multiple witnesses. Crime scene technicians remain on scene working on the investigation.
