PATERSON, NJ - Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09) today celebrated the pathbreaking career of her colleague Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ-12) on the announcement that Watson Coleman will retire at the end of the 119th Congress.
"This is a big hit for our state. When I came to Washington, one of the things I looked forward to most of all was getting to join my friend Bonnie Watson Coleman representing our state," said Congresswoman Pou. "In Trenton, I was privileged to serve beside and work with Bonnie for nearly two decades. Over the last generation, there are few people from our state who have done more for civil rights, for workers, for ethics, and for kindness, than Bonnie Watson Coleman. Bonnie is a leader in our delegation, respected by everyone. As our senior appropriator, she has delivered for our communities over and over again. When she speaks, we listen. While I am sad Bonnie is retiring after this session, I look forward to serving with Bonnie through the rest of this Congress and continuing to learn from her. I will miss you, my friend."
