Orbio AI scales AI-powered frontline recruitment globally with Twilio

AI-native HR platform has supported more than 20 million conversations and engaged more than 5 million candidates across 30+ countries using Twilio

Twilio (NYSE: TWLO), the infrastructure for customer engagement in the AI era, today announced that Orbio AI, an AI-native HR platform for frontline workforces, is scaling its conversational AI platform globally with Twilio, helping organisations automate recruitment processes and engage employees through voice and messaging. Orbio AI counts Adecco, RBE (Burger King, Tim Hortons), Yum! Brands (KFC), Atento and Prime Communications among its customers, and its hiring agent has already supported more than 20 million conversations. With Twilio's global reach, the company has engaged over 5 million candidates via Voice, WhatsApp, and SMS across more than 30 countries.

For organisations managing large, decentralised frontline workforces, recruitment is often slowed by manual processes and fragmented communication. Recruiters spend valuable time chasing interview feedback, coordinating candidates and moving people through the hiring process.

To simplify recruitment, Orbio AI uses Twilio Programmable Voice and Programmable Messaging, including SMS, RCS, and WhatsApp, so its AI agents can reach candidates and hiring managers on the channels they already use every day. With Twilio Voice SDK integrated into the platform, hiring managers can call candidates directly from the browser, with conversations automatically transcribed and captured if desired. After an interview, hiring managers can also simply reply to a WhatsApp message or send a voice note, with AI agents automatically capturing feedback, updating hiring workflows and coordinating next steps. Some Orbio AI customers also see up to 50% of interviews taking place outside traditional business hours, helping employers engage talent faster while giving candidates greater flexibility.

The same channels support employees long after they are hired. Orbio AI agents guide new starters through onboarding, run ongoing engagement check-ins across the employee lifecycle, and conduct exit interviews when people move on, capturing structured feedback at every stage without adding to HR's manual workload.

Orbio AI agents manage the HR cycle end to end, with insight from every interaction feeding back into the agents' context. The effect compounds, improving hiring and operations over time.

"Hiring, onboarding and workforce management should move at the speed people communicate," said Antonio Melé, co-founder and CTO at Orbio AI. "Too much of HR processes still relies on chasing people for updates or asking them to log into systems that interrupt their day. We wanted to make hiring, onboarding and employee experience feel as simple as answering a phone call or replying to a message."

Melé added, "HR will always need human judgement, but the repetitive coordination behind it doesn't. By automating those conversations, HR teams can spend less time managing administration and more time making great hiring decisions. Twilio has given us the platform to deliver that experience at scale."

Driven by accelerating global demand, Orbio AI now operates across 30 countries spanning Europe, the Americas, and Asia Pacific. Twilio's Regulatory Bundles simplify local compliance and phone number provisioning, allowing Orbio AI to scale into new markets with speed and confidence. Together with low-latency voice, real-time transcription, and support for regional dialects and accents, the platform delivers authentic, localised experiences. Candidates can easily switch between voice, SMS, WhatsApp, or RCS based on regional preferences - ensuring every touchpoint feels natural, personal and fully compliant.

Peter Bell, VP Marketing EMEA at Twilio, said: "AI delivers real value by removing the friction from repetitive, admin-heavy workflows, recruitment being a prime example. Orbio AI demonstrates what's possible when conversational AI is paired with programmable communications, helping organisations streamline hiring, engage talent deeper, and drive clear, measurable ROI."
