The subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women's Issues will convene for one hearing titled Nicaragua's Political Crisis: Ortega's Assault on Democracy. Witnesses include Eddy Acevedo, vice president for policy and government relations at the National Endowment for Democracy, Gil Guerra, fellow at the Hudson Institute, Deborah Ullmer, regional director for Latin America and Caribbean programs at the National Democratic Institute, and Juan Sebastián Chamorro, coordinator at Ciudadanos por la Libertad.
