City Attorney Wes Duncan Announces DUI Convictions for the Month of June


The Sparks City Attorney's Office announces 27 convictions of Driving Under the Influence for the month of June. The following are a few of the cases in which sentencing conditions were imposed by the Sparks Municipal Court in accordance with statutory sentencing guidelines:

Nicole Bruesser was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 90 days in the Washoe County Jail suspended on the condition they complete 2 active days in jail, pay a $400 fine plus administrative assessments; complete 8 hours of substance abuse counseling, attend the Victim impact panel, abstain from all drugs and alcohol, obey all laws, and install the Ignition Interlock Device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on December 20, 2025, in the vicinity of Vista and Baring Blvd.

Giovanni Reyes Avalos was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 180 days in Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: 2 active days of jail, $400 fine plus administrative assessments fees, obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow the recommendations, pay restitution in the amount of $492, attend the victim impact panel, obey all laws, and install the Ignition Interlock device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on November 1, 2025, in the vicinity of Vista Blvd and Peppergrass Dr.

Murillo De Quiroz was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 60 days in the Washoe County Jail suspended on the condition he complete 8 hours of substance abuse counseling, complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $400 fine plus administrative assessments, attend the victim impact panel, abstain from all drugs and alcohol, obey all laws, and install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on April 8, 2026, in the vicinity of Rock Blvd and Prater Way.

Ashley Hartmann was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 90 days in the Washoe County Jail suspended on the condition he complete 8 hours of substance abuse counseling, complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $400 fine plus administrative assessments, attend the victim impact panel, abstain from all drugs and alcohol, obey all laws, and install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on April 10, 2026, in the vicinity of Pyramid and Sparks Blvd.

Daniel Ciesco was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, second offense and sentenced to 60 days in the Washoe County Jail suspended on the condition he complete 8 hours of substance abuse counseling, complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $600 fine plus administrative assessments, attend the victim impact panel, abstain from all drugs and alcohol, obey all laws, and install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on April 5, 2026, in the vicinity of I-80 and Rock Blvd.

Guillermo Saavedra was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, second offense, and sentenced to 180 days in the Washoe County Jail. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on May 10, 2026, in the vicinity of El Rancho and Garfield Dr.
