Zoo seeks volunteers for conservation connections

Zoo is now accepting applications for volunteer habitat roving and event support

Looking to connect with something wild this year? If so, the Oregon Zoo may be looking for you! Applications to join the zoo's award-winning volunteer program are now open. The deadline to apply is Aug. 29.

"Our volunteers help visitors make unforgettable connections - and hopefully learn something new along the way," said zoo interpretive supervisor James Stewart. "The impact they have is key to the zoo's mission: connecting our community to the wonder of wildlife to create a better future for all."

Current opportunities include:

• Event support: Help with wayfinding for guests, sharing information, stories and conservation messages, while supporting event activities during evening and weekend special events.
• Habitat roving: Engage with guests throughout the grounds, share information and answer questions about the zoo's animals and ongoing conservation efforts.
