Nominations are open for the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring

During the 2025-26 academic year, the Office of the Provost will confer its 21st Provost's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring, acknowledging graduate faculty members for excellence in the mentoring of research doctoral students.

The honor annually recognizes up to four outstanding mentors who have had the greatest impact on students who are seeking research doctorate degrees. Each award includes a cash prize of $2,500 and public recognition.

Nominations are due by Oct. 10 and should be sent electronically to Vice Provost for Graduate Studies Amanda Godley at vpgodley[at] pitt.edu. Find the full guidelines for this award on the Office of the Provost website.
