Warner Joins Whitehouse’s “Making the Case” Podcast to Take New Look at FBI Seizure of Election Records in Fulton County

Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Courts Subcommittee, today released the ninth episode of season two of his podcast, Making the Case. In the new episode, Whitehouse is joined by Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), Vice Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, to dive into the FBI's insidious seizure of 2020 election records in Fulton County, Georgia, in January.

The senators discussed the unprecedented presence of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard at the FBI's search and her testimony to Warner last week in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee, where she claimed she was instructed by President Trump to attend the search. Whitehouse and Warner also discussed DNI Gabbard's participation in Trump's "Weaponization Working Group," the crowd of election deniers behind the Fulton County search warrant, and what the Trump administration's hostility to the rule of law could mean for the security of the 2026 elections.

"One of the things we like to do on this podcast is to pull on a thread and see where it leads. The thread of this bizarre search warrant execution in Fulton County leads us to a question: was this the worst incompetence in the history of search warrant execution, or something far more sinister? Earlier this month, Whitehouse and Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) sent a letter requesting that the Department of Justice's Inspector General open an investigation into the FBI's Fulton County raid.
