Jennifer Brown, Director of Communications & Community Engagement

The City of Lewisville is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer Brown as its new Director of Communications and Community Engagement.

Brown brings an exceptional combination of strategic communications expertise, public sector leadership, and community focused vision to the organization. Throughout her career, she has led high profile communications, outreach, and public engagement initiatives for major municipal organizations, including the City of Dallas and several New York City agencies.

Her experience includes crisis communications, executive advising, resident engagement, and building strong partnerships that strengthen trust between local government and the communities it serves. She has developed a strong record of designing communication and engagement strategies that improve transparency, expand civic participation, and strengthen connections between residents and city government.

"Jennifer brings a deep commitment to public service and a clear understanding of how meaningful communication and engagement can strengthen trust between local government and the community," said Lewisville City Manager Claire Powell. "Her experience and leadership will be instrumental as we continue advancing our goal of being a responsive, transparent, and community focused city."

"I am honored to join the City of Lewisville and excited to work alongside a talented team committed to serving the community," said Brown. "My goal is to build on the City's strong foundation of communication and engagement by creating even more opportunities for residents to connect, participate, and stay informed about the work happening in their city."

Brown is currently pursuing her Executive MBA at Southern Methodist University. She earned a Master of Public Administration from the CUNY Baruch School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hunter College.

In her new role, Brown will lead the City's communications strategy, media relations, digital engagement, and community engagement efforts, helping strengthen transparency, resident engagement, and connection across Lewisville.

Brown succeeds James Kunke, who passed away in December 2025.
