Gadsden County is urging residents to take precautions and prepare for the potential impacts of Tropical Storm Isaias as the storm moves toward the Gulf Coast and is forecast to bring hazardous weather conditions to the Florida Panhandle.
According to the National Hurricane Center's forecast provided on October 7, 2026, Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to move northeast, with the potential for impacts to the region beginning Friday morning. Winds could begin affecting the area as early as 8:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, with landfall forecast for Friday. Residents should remain alert, monitor official weather updates, and prepare for changing conditions.
Potential impacts include strong winds, heavy rainfall, hazardous travel conditions, and power outages. Residents are encouraged to prepare now by securing outdoor items, charging electronic devices, gathering flashlights and extra batteries, stocking essential supplies, and ensuring they have enough food, water, and necessary medications.
Residents should also prepare for possible extended power outages by keeping mobile devices charged, having backup lighting available, and identifying safe locations to go if conditions become hazardous. Individuals who rely on electricity for medical equipment should make backup arrangements in advance.
Gadsden County encourages residents to monitor updates from the National Weather Service, the National Hurricane Center, and official Gadsden County communication channels for the latest information regarding the storm's track, potential impacts, and any emergency notices.
Residents are reminded that storm forecasts can change. Taking steps now can help protect families, homes, and property as the county prepares for possible impacts from Tropical Storm Isaias.
