Tampa, Florida - A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Arthur Williams (34), a/k/a "Snow," a/k/a "Art," and Timothy Colon (42), both of Spring Hill, with discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, specifically the murder of A.S. Additionally, Williams is charged with making false statements to agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). If convicted, Williams and Colon each could face the death penalty or otherwise will face up to life imprisonment. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.
According to the indictment and evidence presented during the detention hearing, on October 16, 2018, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a group of individuals committed an armed robbery at a residence in Spring Hill where 23-year-old A.S., his girlfriend, and their infant child were present. During the robbery, A.S. defended himself and his family. The perpetrators beat and shot A.S., causing his death. An autopsy report found that A.S. had died from blunt force trauma to the head and gunshot wounds to his lower body.
For nearly eight years, the investigation remained open. In 2025, during the successful homicide prosecution of Lenard White and Sheldon Robinson, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and ATF developed additional witnesses and information that had not previously been available to investigators. That breakthrough provided new avenues to pursue in the 2018 murder investigation. Working together, ATF agents and detectives from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office conducted additional interviews, obtained and executed additional search warrants, uncovered new leads, and developed previously undiscovered evidence.
That investigation revealed that Colon had been stalking A.S. and his girlfriend in preparation for the robbery. Colon conducted surveillance of their home, identified the vehicles they drove, and used social media to track their whereabouts. Investigators further determined that, before the robbery, Colon enlisted several individuals-including Arthur Williams-to assist him in carrying out the robbery.
An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. Assistance was also provided by the State Attorney's Office for the Fifth Judicial Circuit (Hernando County). The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Diego F. Novaes.
