WFBF Statement on Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act

Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation President Brad Olson issued the following statement regarding the passage of the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act:

"Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation applauds Congress for passing the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act. This bipartisan effort restores the ability of schools to serve whole and 2% milk.

For years, we've heard from parents, teachers and dietitians who want to see real, nutritious milk choices returned to school cafeterias. This marks a major step forward for child nutrition and provides meaningful support for Wisconsin's dairy farmers, who produce some of the highest-quality milk in the nation.

The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act reinforces the role of dairy in supporting child development, offering natural protein, essential vitamins and healthy fats. Restoring these options also helps strengthen demand for Wisconsin-produced milk at a time when dairy farmers continue to navigate volatile markets and rising costs. We are grateful to lawmakers who championed this effort and stood with dairy farmers and families across Wisconsin.

Allowing schools to once again serve whole milk gives students better choices and honors the hard work of farm families who take pride in producing safe, nutritious food.

WFBF thanks Wisconsin's congressional delegation members who supported this and we look forward to continued progress on policies that strengthen agriculture, support farmers, and expand access to healthy, affordable foods for children across the nation."
