Business Insider hires Katie Roof as Editor at Large

We're thrilled to share that Katie Roof is joining Business Insider to cover venture and tech finance, deepening our coverage of the founders, investors, and deals shaping the future of technology.

Katie is one of the scoopiest reporters in tech, regularly breaking news on moves and deals in venture on companies from SpaceX and OpenAI to Waymo and Anthropic. This subject is only becoming more crucial for our audience as huge tech IPOs hit the market.

Katie is joining Business Insider as Editor at Large and joining the Axel Springer Global Reporters Network as a Global Reporter. The business of Silicon Valley reverberates worldwide, and we are excited to have even more great tech coverage to share across the Axel Springer network, including POLITICO, WELT, BILD, and now the Telegraph.

Katie has been a frequent television commentator and on-stage moderator. She is an LA Press Club award winner for her team's reporting on SpaceX, which also earned her the TBPN accolade "scoop athlete of the century."

She comes to us from The Information, where she has been Deputy Bureau Chief. She previously worked for Bloomberg. Katie will work closely with Ben Bergman, a crucial force on our tech coverage. She will report to Tech Executive Editor Leena Rao and work out of our San Francisco office.
