Arlington, Va. (September 2026) - A new custom mural now serves as the centerpiece of Snell Properties' new Ballston headquarters, celebrating the company's 79th anniversary this September while looking ahead to its future. The artwork pays tribute to the people, projects, and vision that have defined Snell Properties for generations.
Titled "Past, Present, Future," the custom mural by artist Matt Kress that tells the story of Snell Properties through art and architecture.
At the center of the nearly nine-foot-wide canvas are founder George Snell and his wife, Lorraine C. Snell, depicted reflecting on the company they built and the legacy that continues to grow today. An architectural slide rule, a tool George was known for using throughout his career, serves as a tribute to his hands-on approach and passion for thoughtful design.
The artwork also highlights several properties that represent Snell's evolution over the years, including Dominion in Arlington, Virginia; The Metropolitan in Raleigh, North Carolina; Citi Tower in Orlando, Florida; and Arcos in Sarasota, Florida. Together, they illustrate the company's continued growth across multiple markets while remaining grounded in the principles on which it was founded.
The mural backdrop features an architectural rendering of Dominion, showcasing the distinctive cross-shaped design that reflected George Snell's architectural vision.
More than a mural, Past, Present, Future serves as a daily reminder of where Snell Properties began, the communities it has helped shape, and the future it continues to build. It is a fitting centerpiece for the company's new headquarters and a tribute to the people and vision that have guided Snell Properties for generations.
