Hey, neighborhood leaders: National Night Out registration now open

Published on August 25, 2025

Are you ready for National Night Out? The City of Fort Worth will celebrate on Tuesday, Oct. 7, this year and held a press conference at the Bob Bolen Safety Complex announcing the event.

Interim Police Chief Robert Alldredge and Mayor Mattie Parker opened and closed the event, emphasizing the importance of the event and how the community comes together with local law enforcement.

"Isn't it fitting that one of the very best police departments in the entire nation has been selected to host National Night Out," Parker said. "Both past and present councilmembers will tell you that their favorite event every year is National Night Out. It's a very healthy competition that transpires between councilmembers, usually with how many events they can attend - safely - in one night. Last year, I had some of the very best sweet tea I've ever tasted and hula hoop competition with a 5-year-old who absolutely took me to task!"

National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It also provides an excellent opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Millions of neighbors participate in NNO across thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas and select areas celebrate on the first Tuesday in October). Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, emergency personnel visits and exhibits.
To register for NNO, fill out the short online form by Sept. 30 at 5 p.m., and then gather your family, neighbors and friends to plan the best block party of the year. The Police Department's crime prevention specialists will provide goodies for you to hand out to visitors, while supplies last. If you have registered with National Association Town Watch (NATW), please also register with NNO. NATW does not provide FWPD with its registration information.
