Horrid Transformations (Limited Time Event)
Bout of Realms: Challenge of Equals
New Battleground Seasonal Update
New Legendary Gem: Leviathan Tomb
Something is wrong in Sanctuary.
In Patch 4.3, whispers of vanishing lives spread like rot through the land. Entire souls are being taken, drawing you into The Taking, the new main quest and the opening chapter of the year-long saga, Nation in Agony.
Guided by uneasy alliances and long-trusted companions, your investigation drags you from the streets of Westmarch to the Eastgate Monastery, last seen in Diablo II. What once stood as a place of faith now festers with unanswered questions and darker truths waiting to be unearthed.
The trail does not end within Sanctuary's borders. Your investigation takes you to the Rocky Waste, a scorched and unforgiving land outside Lut Gholein, the so-called jewel of the desert. There, beneath the relentless sun and shifting sands, something ancient stirs.
Your pursuit reveals the hand behind the suffering: Andariel, the Demon Queen-Maiden of Anguish. Her influence bleeds into every disappearance.
With Patch 4.3, the Rocky Waste becomes a new explorable subzone, where players can hunt wanted monsters, pursue bounties, and carve through demonic forces amid a land shaped by torment and decay.
Steel yourself. Greater horrors awaken, Anguish tightens its grip on Sanctuary, and the desert's burning sands conceal truths best left buried... but never forgotten.
Sanctuary's most feared apparitions have been twisted into something far more grotesque-for a limited time.
Horrid Transformations is a one-month, time-limited event taking place March 19 - April 16 that temporarily empowers select zone bosses. These changes are not permanent and are not standard zone event updates. Once the event ends, all affected encounters will return to their original forms.
During this event, two world bosses will undergo horrid transformations during their active windows:
The Haunted Carriage (Ashwold Cemetery) Becomes the Horrid Haunted Carriage, led by the Horrid Tax Collector.
Ancient Nightmare (Mount Zavain) Becomes the Horrid Ancient Nightmare.
While transformed, these bosses are significantly more dangerous-boasting increased health, new attack mechanics, and heightened aggression.
Each Horrid boss gains a unique, event-only ability:
While enhanced, each boss will spawn every 2 hours during their respective active days.
Haunted Carriage Enhancements
Ancient Nightmare Enhancements
Players can earn rewards for defeating each enhanced boss up to 6 times per week, with guaranteed enhanced rewards on the first kill each week.
Enhanced rewards may include:
Face these horrors while you can-their reign is temporary, but the rewards are worth the risk.
You asked for it, and now it's here! A PvP Tournament for all players, old and new! Whether you're a PvP veteran, or a newbie, the Challenge for Equals is for you!
Challenge of Equals is a new variant of the Bout of Realms PvP Tournament that normalizes player power to emphasize moment-to-moment combat and mechanical skill. Teams of 8 will compete against each other in this new iteration of the ultimate tournament to prove themselves the best in Sanctuary!
Challenge of Equals reduces progression-based advantages while preserving class identity and core build choices.
These changes allow all players, regardless of their time in-game, to make their mark on the Battlefield!
To support players new to PvP or those looking to experiment, Elite Slayer Loadouts are available in Challenge of Equals.
We'll continue monitoring player feedback as the community competes in Challenge of Equals, so make sure you share your thoughts and feedback with us over on our Discord server.
A shift is coming to the Battlegrounds.
In April 2026, Diablo Immortal's Battlegrounds will undergo their first major seasonal refresh, reimagining the flow, spectacle, and emotional arc of PvP combat across both Classic and Convoy maps. This update introduces new visual themes alongside gameplay rhythm adjustments designed to heighten tension, reinforce player impact, and deepen immersion in the world of Sanctuary.
At its core, this seasonal update is about escalation. Battles will evolve from chaos into triumph, with every phase of combat feeding naturally into the next. Victory will no longer feel isolated or abstract. Instead, momentum will be visible, immediate, and shared across the battlefield.
This update introduces a multi-phase battlefield experience built around three guiding principles:
Together, these pillars ensure that every decisive moment pushes the battle forward-rather than pulling players out of it.
As a match unfolds, the Battleground begins to destabilize. The presence of a Greater Demon bleeds into the environment: distant roars echo across the field, the ground fractures, and waves of lesser demons spill forth.
The Greater Demon eventually joins the battlefield, warping terrain around its arrival and demanding the attention of every combatant. This moment serves as a shared, high-intensity objective; one that reshapes the fight and tests a team's ability to coordinate under pressure.
Upon its fall, the demon leaves behind the Corvus Spirit Totem, an ancient relic binding the spirits of fallen Nephalem. Players decide when to activate the totem, preserving tactical agency while maintaining combat flow.
When unleashed, the Corvus Spirit Totem frees these bound spirits, summoning powerful Nephalem allies directly onto the battlefield. These allies provide both mechanical support. through buffs and attacks.
Dealing damage grants you Abyssal Depths for 6 seconds, increasing your damage done and causing your Critical Hits to grant you Compounding Pressure for 1 second, increasing Crushing Depths' effectiveness. Additionally, you deal increased damage to enemies suffering from harmful effects. Crushing Depths cannot occur more often than once every 20 seconds, and Compounding Pressure cannot occur more often than once every 1 second during Crushing Depths.
Stay tuned-more information all the features coming with our next major update can be found in a blog coming on March 16. As this is an early look, all information in this blog is subject to change.
