On March 24, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin attended the opening ceremony of the Symposium on "Seminar on Promoting Multilateralism and Advancing Arms Control Diplomacy" in Beijing and delivered remarks.
Liu Bin stated that amid the accelerating evolution of profound changes unseen in a century, it is imperative to strengthen global security governance. President Xi Jinping has put forward the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, along with four global initiatives, which provide a Chinese solution for addressing global challenges and building a better world. The international community should foster a security concept that meets the needs of the times, uphold true multilateralism, support the central role of the United Nations, advance the process of international arms control and disarmament, and work together towards building a community with a shared future for humanity.
Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu, and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Mariano Grossi attended the symposium and delivered remarks. Ambassador Do Hung Viet, President-designate of the Eleventh Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the United Nations delivered video remarks. Permanent representatives to the United Nations, ambassadors for disarmament affairs, and high-level delegates from nearly 20 countries attended the symposium.
In addition, the foreign delegates also visited and inspected Chinese nuclear industry enterprises, decommissioned nuclear facilities, etc.
