Experts Proposed Creating Unified Digital Platform for Youth Theatres Across the CIS

On 19 June, the Tavricheskiy Palace hosted a meeting of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Culture.

The meeting, chaired by Director General of the Russian State Library Vadim Duda, brought together leading experts, university rectors, cultural figures and parliamentarians to discuss ways to preserve historical memory, integrate digital technologies into education and engage young people in the cultural agenda.

The central theme of the meeting was finding a balance between preserving traditional values and adapting to the rapidly evolving digital world. Particular attention was given to both innovative and well-established approaches to working with younger generations.

Director of the State Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan Farhod Juraev proposed the creation of a Unified Digital Platform for Youth Theatres across the CIS. The platform would facilitate the exchange of expertise and scripts, support online master classes, and make outstanding theatre productions accessible to young audiences throughout the Commonwealth, helping to overcome geographical barriers and strengthen cultural ties.

Executive Secretary of the Expert Advisory Board Igor Minin briefed participants on preparations for a major conference marking the 260th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian writer and historian Nikolay Karamzin. He also presented the results of the work carried out in 2025 by the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport and outlined the Assembly's model lawmaking agenda in these areas for the next three years.
