House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Education Performance Metrics and Workforce Stability to Hold First Meeting in Perry

ATLANTA - The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Education Performance Metrics and Workforce Stability, chaired by State Representative Bethany Ballard (R-Warner Robins), will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Houston County Board of Education Annex in Perry, Georgia.

During the meeting, members of the study committee will hear testimony from Dr. Richard Rogers, Houston County Superintendent and hear a brief history of Georgia's College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) and the definition of CCRPI from Dr. Steven Hornyak, Chief Innovation Officer for Houston County Schools. Study committee members will also discuss "closing gaps" with Dr. Elgin Mayfield, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Houston County Schools and how CCRPI affects teacher retention from Dr. Juli Alligood, Executive Director, Middle Georgia RESA.

The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Education Performance Metrics and Workforce Stability will evaluate Georgia's education evaluation measures to strengthen accountability, improve student success and strengthen teacher recruitment and retention.
