SLU Partners With Harris-Stowe State University for Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Pathway in Social Work

Saint Louis University and Harris-Stowe State University have teamed up for an accelerated bachelor's to master's in social work. The program is designed to create new opportunities for HSSU students to continue their education and prepare for professional careers.

Through the SLU-HSSU Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's in Social Work, eligible HSSU students will have an accelerated pathway from their undergraduate education at Harris-Stowe to a Master of Social Work at Saint Louis University. The partnership provides eligible HSSU students with a more direct pathway to advanced study and professional preparation in social work.

"This partnership brings together Harris-Stowe and Saint Louis University, two institutions that are deeply committed to our students and the St. Louis community," said Brandy Maynard, Ph.D., professor and associate dean for academic affairs in Saint Louis University's School of Social Work. "By working together, we can create new opportunities for students while strengthening our collective impact across the region."

Maynard said the partnership benefits SLU's graduate programs and strengthens the relationship between the neighboring schools.

"For SLU's School of Social Work, this partnership strengthens our graduate program by building a closer connection with HSSU and creating new pathways into graduate social work education," she said. "We value the opportunity to welcome HSSU graduates whose perspectives and experiences will enrich our community."
