Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (Interstate 580) Nighttime Closure Westbound Lane #2 for Maintenance

Contra Costa County and Marin County - Caltrans maintenance crews will carry out overnight deck maintenance on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (I-580), implementing the closure of Lane #2 on the westbound upper deck Saturday, October 3, 2026, 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., the following morning. The closure extends from the Toll Plaza to the Marin County line; but westbound Lane #1 and the bike path will remain accessible.
Caltrans appreciate the public's patience as we work to ensure the integrity of the roadway.

Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers of closure. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed, plan to merge, and allow extra travel time.
