On April 7, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin and Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Bakayev held consultations between the two foreign ministries in Astana. Liu Bin also met with Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev.
Liu Bin stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, China-Kazakhstan relations have continued to upgrade and reach new levels, entering a new stage of building a China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future. China stands ready to work with Kazakhstan, guided by the common understandings reached between the two heads of state and with high-quality Belt and Road cooperation as the main focus, to deepen cooperation in various fields and deliver more benefits to the two peoples.
The Kazakh side extended warm congratulations on the successful convening of China's Two Sessions and noted that it always takes developing relations with China as a priority of its foreign policy. Kazakhstan stands ready to maintain close high-level exchanges with China, continue to deepen political mutual trust, expand cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, energy and connectivity, and bring Kazakhstan-China relations to a new level.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
