The firefighter was a member of an interior crew conducting fire attack when a window failed, resulting in a flashover-type event inside the home. The interior crew withdrew from the structure and conducted an accountability survey before re-entering the residence to successfully conduct fire suppression operations. The injured firefighter was evaluated at the hospital and has since been released.

There were no civilian victims reported as a result of the fire and the homeowner is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. Responding units included Engines 24, 14, 13 and 1; Trucks 8, 13 and 2; and Squad 1.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
