Multiple emergency crews responded to an aircraft accident at Bangor
International Airport (BGR) Sunday night.


The airport remains closed at this time. There are numerous flight cancellations and diversions.
Passengers are encouraged to contact their airlines for information regarding impacts to their travel
plans.


At approximately 7:45 p.m. there were reports of an incident involving a single aircraft that was
departing from BGR.


Fire and rescue crews from the 101st Maine Air National Guard, and fire units from Bangor, Brewer,
Eddington, Glenburn, Hampden, Hermon, Holden, Hudson, Levant, Orono, and Orrington in addition to
Bangor Police and airport personnel, responded to the scene.


An Emergency Operations Center remains active and the National Transportation Security Board has
been notified and will be investigating. Additional updates will be provided as more information is
available.
