Sen. RaShaun Kemp to Hold Community Food Giveaway

ATLANTA (October 30, 2025) - On Saturday, November 1, at 10:00 a.m., Sen. RaShaun Kemp (D-Atlanta) will host a community food and toy giveaway in partnership with Feeding Georgia Families, Blessings Working Together Inc., Sunshine Brotherhood Community Foundation and Salem Bible Church.

"This event could not come at a more critical time, as roughly 1.4 million Georgians are at risk of losing their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in November," said Sen. Kemp. "We originally planned to serve about 150 people, but more than 500 have registered, a clear indicator of how urgent this issue is. I am deeply grateful to our partner organizations for their unwavering commitment to supporting Georgia families, especially during these uncertain times. I also join my legislative colleagues in urging the Governor to use a portion of our state's $14.6 billion surplus to deliver essential resources to those who need them most. This is an emergency that demands an emergency response, regardless of the mechanism we use to achieve it."
