RICHMOND, VA - Governor Abigail Spanberger today released the following statement and flag order in memory and respect of Delegate Floyd H. Miles Sr. of Charles City County.
"Floyd Miles Sr. was a lifelong, devoted public servant who dutifully served the people of Charles City County as a member of the Board of Supervisors and in our General Assembly. During his time in office, he championed improvements in agriculture, education, natural resources, and infrastructure. His more than 26 years of public service have left a lasting legacy of leadership, service, and dedication for which the Commonwealth is grateful."
In accordance with the authority vested in me as Governor, I hereby order that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in memory and respect of Delegate Floyd H. Miles Sr.
I hereby order that the flags shall be lowered at sunrise on Saturday, August 15, 2026, and remain at half-staff until sunset.
