USDA Announces $9.1 Million Birch Run Hotel Investment

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Michigan State Director Dom Restuccia today announced a $9.125 million investment in Birch Run.

"The hospitality industry is a crucial part of the rural economy, both through direct jobs and enabling tourists to visit other businesses," said Restuccia. "Agriculture Secretary Rollins and President Trump are working to improve the rural economy on every front, from food production to tourism and this a great example of that."

The funds will assist Birch Run SM Hospitality LLC to facilitate the purchase of a Holiday Inn Express in Birch Run. The loan will sustain employment at the 99-room facility. The total project cost is $11.407 million with the borrower providing $2.282 million.

The Rural Business-Cooperative Services flagship Business & Industry (B&I) Guaranteed Loan Program improves the economic health of rural communities by increasing access to business capital through loan guarantees. This loan guarantee program enables commercial lenders to provide affordable financing for rural businesses.
