On April 20, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin and Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmanov held the ninth meeting of the Security Cooperation Sub-committee of the China-Uzbekistan Inter-governmental Cooperation Committee and the consultations between the two foreign ministries in Tashkent, and met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.
Liu Bin said that under the strategic guidance and personal commitment of President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, China-Uzbekistan cooperation across various fields has been rapidly upgraded in quality, expanded in scale, and improved in efficiency, achieving higher-quality development in bilateral relations. China stands ready to work with Uzbekistan to maintain close exchanges at all levels and jointly deepen and substantiate bilateral cooperation across all fields.
The Uzbek side warmly congratulated China on the successful convening of the "two sessions" and said that Uzbekistan always takes developing relations with China as a priority in its foreign policy. Uzbekistan is ready to maintain close high-level exchanges with China, deepen political mutual trust, expand cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, connectivity, green minerals, and security, and continuously promote China-Uzbekistan relations to new heights.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
