Brewster Bridge Road to Temporarily Close for Repair in May

Date:
April 15, 2026

Brewster Bridge Road in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will be temporarily closed for repair and repavement from May to mid-summer. The road was heavily damaged during significant rain events in 2022 and 2023. The starting date will depend on weather conditions. The National Park Service will perform this work in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Brewster Bridge Road near Rugby, Tennessee, enables access to the park's Brewster Bridge Day Use Area and river access. The park will close the area until work is complete to protect visitor safety. The park will use social media to keep the public updated on the project.
