West Jordan is about to make state history. Construction is officially underway on what will become Utah's first public vert ramp, a major addition to West Jordan Wheels Park and a huge step forward for the region's skate, BMX, and action-sports community.
The concrete pad is already poured, marking the beginning of a project that will bring one of the most advanced vert setups in the country right into our city. In the coming weeks, crews will install repurposed shipping containers around the ramp to act as a wind screen and a comfortable viewing area. These containers will also serve double-duty as a new roll-in feature for the bike trails-making the space more functional for multiple types of riders.
The heart of the project is a size "L" G-Ramp, measuring 40 feet wide and 13 feet tall, designed by COR Parks and manufactured in Germany by G-Ramps Inc. If the name sounds familiar, it's for good reason: this team is responsible for building the Houston Vert Ramp, one of the most respected vert ramps in the United States. Bringing that level of quality to West Jordan means local riders-and those traveling from across the state-will have access to a world-class facility typically found only in major skate regions.
The ramp is scheduled to be shipped, installed, and ready for opening in Spring 2027.
