Take part in National Marquette Day events leading up to Feb. 7 tipoff

For more than 30 years, National Marquette Day has united the global Marquette community in pride, spirit and sport to honor the values we cherish throughout the year.

This year, National Marquette Day will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 7, culminating in the men's basketball team's matchup with Butler at 1 p.m. at Fiserv Forum.

Students are reminded to act responsibly and respectfully on National Marquette Day, keeping care for one another at the forefront. Shuttles will take students from the Union Sports Annex to Fiserv Forum beginning at 10:30 a.m. Please review these safety tips to ensure a positive experience for all.

The following events will be held on campus and in various locations around Milwaukee leading up to and on National Marquette Day:

Thursday, Feb. 5

  • Glow Bingo | 9 p.m. in the Union Sports Annex
    • Participants will have the opportunity to win a TV and concert tickets, and a first-year student will win priority housing.

Friday, Feb. 6

  • 3rd annual Daniels Forum | 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in O'Brien Hall's Michels Family Forum, 150A/B
    • This year's forum will feature a fireside chat with Andrew DeGuire, Arts '93, James H. Keyes Dean of Business Administration, and Dave Honan, Grad '00, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Quad.
  • Faculty, staff and Jesuits vs. students basketball game | 4:30 p.m. in the Wellness + Helfaer Recreation gymnasium
    • Students, faculty, staff, and Jesuits are invited to cheer on their respective teams. The game offers a visible opportunity to engage across roles and to support student connection and community through recreation. No RSVP is required to attend. A pizza party with the Jesuits will be held in the lobby of the Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility at the conclusion of the game.
  • Movie night with CAB: "Now You See Me: Now You Don't" | 8 p.m. at Varsity Theatre

Saturday, Feb. 7

  • Snacks and activities in all residence halls | all morning
  • Pancake and Plushies | 8 a.m. in Marquette Place and second floor of the Alumni Memorial Union
    • Five plushie options and T-shirts will be available. Food will be served in the second-floor lobby, with plushie materials available in Marquette Place.
  • Student tailgate hosted by Recovery at Marquette | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at GATHER in the Deer District (333 W. Juneau Ave., Ste. B)
    • Free food will be available for the first 300 attendees, including breakfast burritos, gameday snacks, and desserts. Live entertainment will be provided by DJ Style. Activities will include games, a photo booth and free hat decorating while supplies last. No RSVP is required.
  • Men's lacrosse vs. Michigan | 11 a.m. at Valley Fields
  • National Marquette Day Watch parties | 1 p.m. at locations across the world

The Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility will be open on National Marquette Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
