Award of Indian Ambassador's Scholarship 2025-26

The Embassy of India is pleased to announce the award of the Ambassador's Scholarship 2025-26 to Bhutanese students pursuing higher studies in Indian Colleges/Institutes and Universities. A total of 1747 Bhutanese students have been awarded the Scholarship amounting to Nu. 79.64 Million this year.

2. India has been a destination of choice for Bhutanese students wishing to pursu equality higher studies abroad, across all disciplines, including STEM, social sciences, and Buddhist studies. Through various scholarship programs and academic collaborations, Government of India constantly endeavors to support meritorious and deserving Bhutanese students to pursue higher studies in India.

3. The Government of India and the Royal Government of Bhutan enjoy a close partnership in the areas of higher education and skill development, which has grown from strength-to-strength over the years. Apart from the Ambassador's Scholarship, Government of India offers 30 Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarships, 30 Masters' and PhD scholarships at Nalanda University, and 03 Masters' scholarships at IIT Kanpur annually to students from Bhutan. In addition, scholarships such as the Nehru Wangchuck Scholarship and the Under Graduate GoI Scholarships are funded by Government of India and awarded in consultation with the Royal Civil Service Commission of Bhutan.
