The annual Defence Team Accessibility Online Consultation has launched, and the Defence Team Accessibility Office (DTAO) wants to hear from you.

By completing the anonymous online questionnaire, you will help us understand accessibility barriers, track progress, and determine what is needed to create a more inclusive Defence Team workplace.

What you need to know

  • Deadline: Complete the questionnaire by Friday, July 10 at 11:59 p.m. EDT
  • Who can participate: Defence Team members, including Department of National Defence public service employees and Canadian Armed Forces members, with or without disabilities
  • Where: Defence Team 2026 Accessibility Online Consultation Questionnaire
    • Long Form (49 questions taking approximately 45 minutes to complete)
    • Short Form (21 core questions and up to 34 optional questions taking approximately 15 minutes to complete)

Here's how it works

To support accessibility and reduce barriers to participation, two consultation questionnaires are available:

  • a long-form questionnaire (49 questions, taking approximately 45 minutes to complete); or
  • a focused short-form questionnaire (21 core questions and 34 optional questions, taking approximately 15 minutes to complete).

Questions will cover topics such as:

  • workplace barriers
  • accommodations
  • accessible communications and events
  • workplace culture
  • available accessibility resources

Your responses will support the organization's performance measurement framework and help inform implementation of the 2025-2027 Defence Team Accessibility Plan and future progress reports.

Confidentiality and disclosure

Your privacy and confidentiality are important. The questionnaire is anonymous, and only members of the Defence Team Accessibility Office responsible for the analysis will have access to submitted responses. Individual responses will not be linked to respondents, and results will be combined to highlight key themes.

You do not need to identify as a person with a disability to participate in the consultation. We encourage all Defence Team members to share their perspectives, as accessibility affects everyone.

If you have any questions about the online consultation, or require accommodations to participate, please contact the .

This consultation has been approved by the DND/CAF Social Science Research Review Board in accordance with DAOD 5062-0 and 5062-1. The SSRRB approval # is 2297-26L.
