FPL Rate Case Hearing Scheduled to Start Monday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) will convene a technical hearing on Monday, October 6, 2025, to consider Florida Power & Light Company's (FPL) petition for a base rate increase. The hearing will allow FPL and intervenors to present sworn testimony and exhibits in support of their positions.

FPL filed its petition with the FPSC on February 28, 2025. To gather customer input, the Commission held ten service hearings in May and June-three virtual and seven in person-to allow feedback from customers about FPL's quality of service and rate request. FPL provides electric service to six million customer accounts throughout Northwest and peninsular Florida.
