New series brings educators together to share teaching innovations

The Center for Teaching and Learning is launching a new program focused on providing space for educators to share their teaching innovations with each other. Each month the "Learning Lounge @ Lunch" series will highlight the unique work a faculty member is doing in the classroom. The sessions will take place from noon-1 p.m. in the center's Learning Lounge, Interactive Learning Center, Room 315. Lunch will be provided for participants.

Sessions planned for fall 2025 are:

  • Using Two-Stage Exams to Foster Student Collaboration: Led by Sarah Dalrymple, Sept. 17
  • Using Rhetorix Lab to Integrate Oral Assignments: Led by Steven Pentland, Oct. 21
  • Getting your students to do the reading: Led by Jen Black, Nov. 6

While seating is limited for in person participants, educators are also welcome to join these sessions via Zoom. To learn more about the planned topics or to register, visit the center's Campus Groups page (must be logged in with Boise State credentials).

Those interested in sharing an effective strategy for the classroom can contact the Center for Teaching and Learning using their Google form.
