DES MOINES, IA - Congressman Zach Nunn (IA-03) marked Tax Day with a new op-ed in the Des Moines Register , highlighting how the Working Families Tax Cuts are putting real money back in the pockets of Iowa workers and families this filing season.
In the piece, Rep. Nunn highlights Iowans like Erika Pirtle, a bar manager in Ankeny, and Stacey Ollar, a bartender in Bettendorf - two of the nearly five million Americans who have already benefited from the No Tax On Tips deduction. He also underscores the impact of the new overtime deduction, which more than 20 million Americans have claimed, returning up to $12,500 to workers, including law enforcement, nurses, factory workers, and first responders.
New data underscores the impact: according to the IRS, tax refunds are up more than 11% compared to last year, with the national average exceeding $3,500. In the op-ed, Rep. Nunn explains how these increases are driven by targeted tax relief designed to deliver relief for working families and seniors across Iowa.
