Treasurer Stacy Garrity: Need a Last-Minute Gift? Give the Gift of Education with PA 529

Harrisburg, PA - Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity wants Pennsylvanians looking for a last-minute gift for a child in their life to know that the gift of education is a perfect option this year, and Treasury has gift cards available to make gift-giving even easier.

"By offering digital gift cards for the PA 529 College and Career Savings Program, it's easier than ever to make a meaningful contribution to a child's future education. Gift cards can be given to anyone with the extra convenience of not having to ask family and friends for information about their PA 529 account."

To make a gift for a child's PA 529 account, visit pa529.com/gift. Here you can find details on how to purchase a PA 529 gift card or make a Ugift contribution with a child's code you can get from the PA 529 account owner.

The PA 529 College and Career Savings Program allows families to steadily and strategically save in a tax-advantaged account for qualifying educational expenses no matter what career path a child may take. Saving with PA 529 does not impact a student's eligibility for PA state financial aid.

There are two PA 529 plans to choose from, including the PA 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan which allows families to save at today's tuition rates to meet tomorrow's tuition costs and the Morningstar Gold-Rated PA 529 Investment Plan.

Families with children born in 2019 and after can claim their $100 scholarship from Keystone Scholars. The program is available to every child born to or adopted by Pennsylvania families. Keystone Scholars families are encouraged to open their own companion PA 529 account to continue saving on their own. Visit pa529.com/keystone to claim your child's Keystone Scholars account.
