Fare evasion stop by BART Police leads to arrest of man wanted for murder in Georgia
A routine stop for fare evasion at El Cerrito del Norte Station Tuesday morning led to the arrest of a man who is wanted in connection with a homicide in Georgia. BART Police saw 27-year-old Davonte Fore attempt to fare evade at the station at 8:53am. Fore fled the scene and was apprehended several blocks from the station after a foot chase. Fore provided a false ID to officers, but a check of his fingerprints revealed his identity.
Fore is wanted in connection with a 2021 homicide that occurred in Convington, Georgia. Fore was convicted in 2024 but had been on the run from authorities since then until he was taken into custody by BART Police.
