Construction Update for Gold Country Corridor

Placer/Nevada Counties - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane closures in multiple locations along State Route 49 (SR 49) and State Route 20 (SR 20) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.

Here is the breakdown for next week:

SR 20 Projects:

• Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project
  • Near Interstate 80 (I-80) junction, no lane closures scheduled. Next eastbound SR 20 closure tentatively planned for early October. The department will issue further updates once additional information is available.
  • The SR 20 on-ramp to westbound I-80 remains closed until further notice due to bridge construction activities.
• Pavement Rehabilitation Project
  • Between Dow Road and Harmony Ridge Road, various one-way traffic controls are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 29 through Tuesday, October 1.
  • Between Lowell Hill Road and Lake Spaulding Road, various one-way traffic controls are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 29 through Thursday, October 1.

SR 49 Projects:

• Corridor Improvement Project between McKnight Way and La Barr Meadows/Allison Ranch Road, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, September 27 to 6 a.m. Monday, September 28 and from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, September 28 through Thursday, October 1. Lane closures are scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, October 2.
• Sidewalk Gap Closure Project
  • Northbound between Elm/Fulwiler Avenue and Luther Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, September 27 through Tuesday, September 29.
  • Southbound between Luther Road and Elm/Fulwiler Avenue, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. Sunday, September 27 to 7 a.m. Monday, September 28 and from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, September 28 and Tuesday, September 29.

The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of the work and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or may be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
