Company Snapshot
IDS is a mobile diagnostics company building a network of high-performing providers to expand access to timely, efficient, and high-quality diagnostic care. The company delivers mobile X-ray, ultrasound, EKG, echocardiogram, and laboratory services to skilled nursing facilities, long-term care communities, and home health providers. IDS partners with administrators and medical directors at these facilities to expand access to care in an efficient and timely manner and at a lower cost by leveraging its centralized operational support, while preserving existing teams, culture, and its trusted service reputation.
IDS is expanding a platform of mobile diagnostic services-spanning Portable X-ray, Ultrasound, Echocardiogram, EKG, and Laboratory Services-designed to bring high-quality, bedside care to post-acute and long-term care settings.
Investment Overview
In December 2024, HCAP partnered with experienced industry executives to set up IDS as a platform to meet the growing demand for mobile diagnostic services as the healthcare sector increasingly shifts beyond traditional hospital settings. Skilled nursing and long-term care providers serve a fast-growing population. Nationwide, there are approximately 30,000 assisted living communities with more than 1.2 million licensed beds, and residents need timely access to diagnostic imaging and laboratory services delivered directly where they live. Timely access to care is a significant determinant of recovery timelines for seniors and avoidance of lengthy hospital stays.
IDS continues to build a network of established regional providers with deep relationships across senior care markets. The company offers both on-demand and scheduled services, delivering care within hours, reducing the challenge of long emergency room waits, without sacrificing the quality and responsiveness patients count on. By combining local clinical expertise with centralized operational support, IDS offers a more efficient, cost-effective alternative to traditional hospital- and clinic-based diagnostics.
Growth Strategy
IDS is focused on expanding both its service capabilities and market reach. The company is strengthening its regional operations by serving more facilities within existing markets, allowing clinicians to reach more patients while improving efficiency. At the same time, IDS is integrating radiology and laboratory services to deliver a more comprehensive diagnostic offering.
The company is also expanding into higher-acuity skilled nursing facilities, the home health market, and strengthening relationships with Managed Care Organizations and California's rapidly growing PACE programs. Looking ahead, IDS will continue to pursue acquisitions that build density in current markets, expand into adjacent geographies, and broaden its service lines.

Industry Landscape
As the U.S. population ages and care shifts from hospitals to outpatient, post-acute, and home-based settings, demand for diagnostic imaging continues to grow. Mobile diagnostic providers improve access, reduce unnecessary patient transportation, and deliver timely clinical information where patients live.
IDS' growth reflects this broader trend. PE Hub recently identified IDS' acquisition of Core Analytics Lab & Radiology as one of five notable radiology deals announced in the first half of 2026¹, citing rising demand for medical imaging, driven by increasing cancer rates and other complex diseases, as a key factor drawing private equity to the space.
