Prime Minister Andrey Gurov held a working meeting with the ambassadors of the member states of the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and with the Head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria. He presented the caretaker government's priorities at the discussion in the Council of Ministers building.

First, the Prime Minister noted the government's commitment to the holding of fair elections and emphasized public trust in the process. Andrey Gurov was firm that the cabinet is strictly law-abiding in its doings to arrange the upcoming early election. As he put it, the objective is to hold the election professionally, transparently and in keeping with the rules.

Prime Minister Andrey Gurov emphasized the cabinet's responsibility for the stability of the state and for ensuring the effective performance of the Executive branch of power. The Prime Minister recalled that ever since it took office, the cabinet had provided clear assurance that it works consistently and deliberately to strengthen the rule of law and increase public trust in institutions.

In the course of the discussion Prime Minister Andrey Gurov noted the constructive dialog and excellent cooperation with European partners. He thanked for the broad support to Bulgaria for its accession to the Schengen area and the Eurozone. Andrey Gurov reassured that Bulgaria is a reliable and predictable partner in the EU and NATO.

The complicated international situation was discussed at today's meeting accordingly. Emphasis was placed on developments in the Middle East. The discussion also touched on the war in Ukraine as Prime Minister Andrey Gurov underscored Bulgaria's consistent support for Kyiv.
