Dunwoody unveils 'Forest Forms: Woodland Wonders'

Dunwoody, GA - October 20, 2026 - Dunwoody Parks and Recreation will unveil Forest Forms: Woodland Wonders, a public art exhibit featuring 21 larger-than-life sculptures of woodland animals and plants, created by renowned artist Huelani Mei. The public is invited to an official unveiling at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Dunwoody Nature Center at Dunwoody Park.

"I'm so proud of these pieces, and I'm excited to bring them to Dunwoody, which is home to several of my other sculptures," said artist Huelani Mei. "Woodland Wonders reflects the joy and peace that nature brings to me. I hope visitors can see and feel that, too."

Mei's sculptures are placed along pathways and among plantings throughout the park. Ranging from three to 10 feet tall, the colorful works are crafted from durable, powder-coated steel and invite visitors to slow down, look closer and experience moments of reflection and wonder.

"Huelani's skill and creativity are already featured in permanent pieces at three of our parks," explained Dunwoody Parks and Recreation Director Rachel Waldron. "This temporary exhibit was a big hit at the Atlanta Botanical Garden last year, and we think Dunwoody residents and visitors will enjoy it just as much."

Woodland Wonders will be on display through Spring 2027. Dunwoody Nature Center is located at 5343 Roberts Drive.

"Art has a wonderful way of helping us see the natural world through fresh eyes, sparking curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the beauty around us," said Dunwoody Nature Center Executive Director Nancy Longacre. "We look forward to bringing Woodland Wonders to life through engaging environmental programs that inspire children, families, and adults to connect with nature and become stewards of the world we share."
