Weekend Lane Closure on I-75 Express Lanes in Marietta, in Kennesaw for Road Striping
METRO ATLANTA - Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will completely close the Interstate 75 (I-75) Express Lanes in Cobb County this weekend as part of a project to restripe the roadway between the I-75/I-285 interchange to just north of Hickory Grove Road. Crews will apply a high-reflective striping to improve driver visibility in wet weather conditions.

Weather and on-site conditions permitting, crews will completely close the I-75 Express Lanes northbound in the project area on Friday, March 27 and Saturday March 28, from 11:30 p.m. until 11:30 a.m. the following mornings. These complete closures will allow crews to work more efficiently without traffic.

Roadway signs and message boards will alert drivers of the closures in advance so that alternate routes and/or extra travel time can be planned.

As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
