Destination Witt 2026

Wittenberg's Destination Witt team has been hard at work preparing to welcome the newest incoming class to campus for the University's annual summer orientation program.

Required for incoming students, Destination Witt: New Student Orientation sessions will take place on Friday, June 12, Saturday, June 13, Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18. One-day programs begin with check-in from 8:15-8:40 a.m. and conclude by 4:15 p.m. Each session ends with an engagement fair from 3:15-4:15 p.m. at Thomas Library. Transfer students are encouraged to attend the July 17 session.

Created to help first-year students, transfer students, and their families begin their successful transition to college life, the program offers sessions on academic and student life, along with residence hall and commuter student tours. Meetings with faculty and advisors are also on the agenda, as are opportunities for students to connect with one another.

"We are excited to welcome our incoming class and show the great things that Wittenberg has to offer," said Grace Sever, senior director of academic services and student success. "This program is an important part of helping our newest Tigers begin to feel at home at Wittenberg. We hope to get students thinking about their goals for college and for the future, connect students with departments and offices on campus and with each other, and ensure their questions get answered."

During the sessions, students often begin to make connections with their peers and learn valuable information about academics and programs available at the University. The day includes: Mapping Your Witt Journey: Connect, Explore, Engage; Your Path to Career Engagement; Student Employment and Career Engagement; Living on Campus; Commuting to Campus; Meeting Your Success Advisor; Faculty Goal Setting; and a Fall Schedule Review. Students can also attend a residence hall tour.

Additionally, each orientation session will:

• Provide students with information about Wittenberg services and people who will support their educational and personal goals.
• Introduce students to Wittenberg's liberal arts curriculum and academic advising system.
• Help students become familiar with the Wittenberg campus community and reaffirm their decision to attend Wittenberg University.
• Answer outstanding questions about the transition to Wittenberg and outline expectations for students.

Each session also includes a concluding Engagement Fair in the campus' Thomas Library from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
